About Us

Turkan Deniz is from Mersin, a coastal city in Turkey.

She was always fascinated by the ocean. As a child, she spent hours playing by the shore, collecting shells and watching the waves crash against the rocks. As she grew older, she began to see the damage humans were doing to the ocean and she knew she must do something to help.

After years of research and experimentation, Turkan Deniz discovered that growing seaweed and the collection of wild seaweed was one of the best methods of sustainable raw material supply for many essential industries. Not only did it provide a renewable resource but it also reduced negative environmental impacts.

Turkan Deniz started with a small group of a few local fishermen and divers to help her collect wild seaweed. They would carefully cut the seaweed from its anchor point, being sure to leave enough for regrowth. Turkan Deniz then began experimenting with growing seaweed in controlled environments using nutrient-rich water and carefully
monitoring its growth.

As Turkan Deniz's seaweed business grew, so did her positive impact. Her seaweed was used in everything from food and cosmetics to biofuels and medicine. As more and more people learned about the benefits of seaweed, Turkan Deniz's efforts to protect the ocean began to ripple outwards.

Eventually, Turkan Deniz's business became a beacon of sustainability, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. The seas began to heal and the people who depended on them found hope for a brighter future. Turkan Deniz knew that there was still much work to be done but she also knew that with determination and dedication anything was possible.
